Mike Taillie
I'm 47 and wondering how come 50 is coming around so quickly. I'm married to Emma and have three fantastic kids. Ben is nine Jack eight and Caroline nearly six. Life's pretty busy with the business and family. I spend my time attempting that 'life-balance' thing everyone keeps talking and writing about. Goals are to keep under 90kg and get to 85kg, spend time up at the bach and have fun at work producing magazines that readers enjoy.
Other interests are playing golf very badly, attempting to fully appreciate good wines and at some stage learning to write well. I also promised myself that one day I would run a marathon… yeah, right!

Travis Field
I'm 41 years old and have been married to Sue for 17 years (and in a business marriage with Mike for 15!). I have two delightful children, aged twelve and eight.
Why publishing? I like the feeling I have when I sit down and enjoy a magazine - setting aside time to indulge myself. I like to think that I am giving that same enjoyment to the readers of our magazines. I want to produce quality magazines that provide enjoyment and/or value to people's lives.
Before joining Mike in business I was a Captain in the NZ Army. The planning skills, problem solving, ability to work under pressure etc I learnt are fantastic for the business world.
My interests outside of work are my family, mens work ( www.mkp.org.nz), cooking, beer, wine and being in New Zealand's beautiful bush. My perfect day would be a long run through the Waitakeres followed by a long, long lunch with my wife and friends. |
